Gregory Truett Smith was born May 29th, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas. His ability to draw and paint was also possessed by his Great-grandmother Ruby Hunt and his Grandmother Ruby Lucielle Smith both being accomplished painters. His father Gordon Truett Smith, the son of a District Judge, graduated from Baylor University went on to receive his Master of Divinity Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, then became a Southern Baptist Pastor holding his first pastorate in Shallowater, Texas. This is where Gregory discovered his “Gift.”

When he was four years old he began to draw on the back of church bulletins during the Sunday morning and evening church services, and also during the Wednesday night prayer meetings.
At the age of seven, his parents enrolled him in a professional oil painting class. Attending, were
other children his age, teenagers, adults, and seniors. In 1970 Gregory’s father accepted a pastorate
in Central Florida, and moved to the little town of Windermere, just outside of Orlando. Shortly after arriving. Gregory was introduced to an extraordinary artist, Jess Rubio. Jess was in charge of
Portraits and Caricature at Walt Disney World. Jess let Gregory attend his Disney Portrait Artist Training Classes that took place during the evenings at the old Windermere Post Office.

When Gregory entered the seventh grade, he began painting wall murals, drawing portraits, and also drew a weekly cartoon for the Winter Garden Times, the local daily newspaper. Wanting to become a commercial artist, after graduating from high school in 1979, his parents enrolled him at a professional private art institute, The Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. In 1982 Gregory had completed a three year course in Graphic Design, majoring in Illustration.

Since then he’s worked as a full-time artist at two major television broadcast stations, a promotion artist and editorial illustrator for a major newspaper company. He’s done freelance illustrations for advertising agencies, major magazine publications, book publishers, Graphic Design firms, and Interior Design firms in the form of Cover Art, Greeting Cards, Calendars, Promotional Posters, Annual Reports, Logo Design. Gregory is loaded with extreme vision, and in his own words he says, “All of the art that I have created since childhood up to now, has served as a springboard to propel me far into the “Light.” Now its time to explode! May God bless you way beyond your wildest imagination, and may all of your hopes, dreams, and the deepest desires of your heart become a reality, today, Right Now!”

Gregory is available to take on commissioned work, and is a working graphic, fine art, and commercial illustrator. Gregory also instructs private art lessons on the “Basic Fundamentals of Drawing.”
